New laptop Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 20A7
While I got along well with my Thinkpad T61 laptop, for quite some time I had the plan to get a new one soon. It wasn't an easy decision and I looked in detail at the models available in recent months. I finally decided to buy one of Lenovo's Thinkpad X1

Welcome to the club! Ken69267 and I have near identical T61 laptops, you are the the 4th Gentoo dev with a T61 I think.

Nice. I have a Thinkpad R61i, with very similar specs, so let me know if you'd like any configs or tips/tricks. You should also poke around ThinkWiki for more stuff; the T61 documentation is quite extensive.

The Lenovos are definitely a good choice from what I've heard. Cool device.

Soll doch jeder nehmen was er mag.
