RMS in Stuttgart
Today, I was at a talk held by Richard Stallman, the founder of the GNU project and ideological father of the free software movement, at the Lightwerk GmbH in Stuttgart. The talk was about software patents. I was a bit disappointed, because it was only about the usual, obvious arguments about software patents, which probably all visitors of the talk already knew. I think RMS can tell much more important things about free software and the social and political impact of it.
Nevertheless, it was worth being there. A friend of mine took a picture of me and RMS, which you can see beside.
Oh, before I forget, support the protest of the FFII against software patents.

Hacked servers, violent computergames... report from evoke
Friday, about 16.00 we (StyX, TS and me, in the scene known as Ctulhu) arrived at the Evoke, after a railway trip with the deutsche bahn and a reservation in a waggon that didn't exist (but that wasn't a real problem, we found a nice place with an electricity plug in the train).
Well, usually gamers are not wanted on demoparties. But on evoke, you can see people playing all the time violent games. REALLY violent. The PainStation. It's basically an advanced Pong-game, but the special gimmick is, if you miss your ball, you'll be hurt by heat, electro shocks or hits. Really fun.Well, later the evening, it seems that some evil hackers took over the evoke-webserver (I surely have nothing to do with that ;-).
To be continued...

aKademy
The last few days I was at the aKademy, the KDE world konference.
As I missed the talks from the weekend, there wasn't much of interest, just hanging around with some nice guys and hacking on our notebooks.
Tomorrow I'll travel to Evoke.
