Questioning copyright treaties

I would think it's not just an issue of copyright laws/treaties. I think for any part of the legal system which is subject to evolution, politicians should take care to engage in treaties in a way that doesn't hinder in-country law changes too much. The legislation should have enough freedom to work on proper laws, after all. And in my opinion, copyright law is definitely an area where this freedom is required, as we are probably still quite far away from a proper system which creates a good balance between content creators and content consumers. The recently enacted Leistungsschutzrecht should already prove that copyright law is a work in progress.
